The Cadre Way Coaching Framework

A behavioral health-informed coaching model designed to bridge the space between everyday support and clinical care.

About The Cadre Way

Cadre’s coaching experience is guided by The Cadre Way™ Coaching Framework, a behavioral health-informed framework developed by Dr. Charryse Johnson, Chief Clinical Officer at Cadre, designed to expand access to person-centered support and strengthen the bridge between everyday well-being and clinical care.

Human well-being does not exist in silos. People need accessible guidance before problems escalate, before stress becomes crisis, and before disconnection becomes illness. The Cadre Way™ was developed to strengthen that critical middle space—providing structured, compassionate coaching that supports mental fitness, resilience, and meaningful connection to care when needed.

A New Model for Human Support

Across healthcare systems, workplaces, and communities, millions of people struggle silently with stress, life transitions, and emotional strain. Many of these individuals do not require therapy or clinical intervention, yet they still need thoughtful support and human connection.

The Cadre Way™ was designed to meet that need. This coaching framework equips trained guides with a structured, evidence-informed approach to helping individuals navigate challenges, clarify goals, and strengthen their capacity to move forward. By combining behavioral science with human-centered conversation, The Cadre Way™ helps create a more accessible and dignified pathway to well-being.

Why the Cadre Way™ Matters

The modern support landscape often leaves people navigating a confusing gap between self-help resources and clinical care.

Many individuals struggle to find guidance that is:

• accessible

• compassionate

• structured

• and appropriate for their level of need

The Cadre Way™ helps bridge this gap by providing a framework for skilled coaching conversations that strengthen engagement, build resilience, and help individuals connect to the right level of support when necessary. Rather than waiting for crisis, this approach focuses on early support, relational connection, and meaningful guidance.

Grounded in Five Core Pillars

The Cadre Way™ is built upon five foundational principles that guide every coaching interaction.

Community

Support is strongest when people feel seen, valued, and connected to others.

Empathy

True support begins with listening, curiosity, and compassionate presence.

Evidence-Informed Coaching

The Cadre Way™ integrates established behavioral science approaches that help guide meaningful, ethical, and effective coaching conversations. Together, these approaches help transform conversation into insight, and insight into meaningful action.

A Structured Framework for Meaningful Engagement

The Cadre Way™ provides coaches with a clear model for how to guide supportive conversations while maintaining ethical boundaries and accountability.

Within this structure, coaches are trained to:

• foster trust through empathic listening

• support individuals in clarifying goals and values

• strengthen confidence and motivation for change

• recognize barriers to engagement and access

• maintain appropriate coaching boundaries

• identify when referral to higher levels of care may be appropriate

This framework supports both human connection and responsible care navigation.

Bridging the Care Continuum

The Cadre Way™ operates in the critical space between everyday life support and clinical intervention.

Rather than replacing therapy or medical care, the framework helps people receive meaningful guidance earlier—before challenges escalate and when support can have the greatest impact.

Support Continuum

Self-Guided Wellness → Coaching Support → Clinical Care → Crisis Intervention

By strengthening the coaching layer of this continuum, organizations can expand access to support while helping individuals move toward appropriate care pathways when needed.

Designed for Impact

The Cadre Way™ helps organizations and communities create support experiences that are both compassionate and scalable.

Potential benefits include:

• increased engagement with support resources

• stronger individual activation and self-efficacy

• earlier identification of emerging needs

• improved navigation across support services

• greater continuity between everyday well-being and formal care

At its core, The Cadre Way™ is designed to strengthen human connection while supporting responsible and thoughtful pathways to care.

About the Framework

The Cadre Way™ Coaching Framework was developed by Dr. Charryse Johnson, Clinical Mental Health Consultant and Behavioral Health Systems Strategist, and Chief Clinical Officer of Cadre.

Dr. Johnson designed the framework to translate evidence-informed behavioral health principles into practical coaching tools that strengthen engagement, expand access to support, and help individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

Her work focuses on building person-centered support systems that make well-being guidance more accessible while helping individuals connect to the right level of care when needed.

At its core, The Cadre Way™ is designed to expand access to meaningful support while keeping the individual at the center of the experience. By combining structured coaching with human connection, the framework helps organizations create support systems that are both scalable and deeply person-centered.
